Q4 2020 Performance of Top Virtual Pet Apps on Android in Brazil

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the virtual pet category saw significant engagement on the Android platform in Brazil. This report, courtesy of Sensor Tower, presents a snapshot of the performance of the top five virtual pet applications during this period.

My Talking Tom Friends experienced a peak in downloads reaching nearly 350K in late October. The app's weekly active users (WAUs) saw a high of 3.3M in early November, while revenue trends showed a notable spike to $903K at the end of November.

The Slovenian publisher's sequel, My Talking Tom 2, also had a steady quarter with downloads hovering around the 200K mark and peaking at over 240K in early November. WAUs showed an impressive rise, reaching a peak of 2.7M in the last week of December.

Another popular app from Outfit7 Limited, My Talking Angela, maintained a consistent download rate around 180K to 190K, with a slight increase in December. WAUs for the app increased to over 2.2M by the end of the quarter, and revenue saw a gradual rise, with the highest at $943K in mid-December.

My Talking Tom, the precursor to the aforementioned apps, showed a steady performance in downloads, with a slight increase to nearly 150K by the end of December. The app maintained a WAU count close to 1M throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Baby Panda World: Kids Games from the Chinese publisher BabyBus had a relatively stable quarter, with downloads reaching over 130K at the start and nearing 96K at the end of December. WAUs remained above the 1M mark, peaking at over 1M in late November.
